Academic Profile

Sarah Earnshaw earned both her under- and postgraduate degrees at the University of Glasgow: a joint MA (Hons) in History and English literature in 2012 and an MLitt in War Studies (with Distinction) in 2013. Her MLitt thesis – ‘The End is Nigh? The Philosophy of American Foreign Policy from the Fukuyama Thesis to the Vulcan Vision’ – analysed the philosophy informing post-Cold War U.S. foreign policy, with a focus on the question of increased interventionism. She joined the ProAmHist doctoral program in October 2014. Her research interests include critical security studies, asymmetric and irregular warfare, and social and political theory. As of October 2015, she was awarded a doctoral scholarship from the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung.
